Siglufjörður council approves road works and harbor plans
The 22 September meeting of the Hafnarstjórn authorized construction of coastal defense and harbor facilities in Siglufjörður to safeguard the port and maritime traffic. The project, costing about 122 million kronor, aims to stabilize harbor operations, shore protection, and vessel passages to Eyjafirði with lighting and road improvements planned for Lagheidi and the coast. Siglufjarðarkaupstadur funded and coordinated pay, while Vegagerin is to oversee the lighting and infrastructure work.
