Curiosity in Liverpool Inn as Rat Trapped in Oyster
From Liverpool a curious scene at the Golden Lion Inn where a large Norway rat snared in an oyster long enough to alarm hundreds. The creature measured nineteen inches from nose to tail as it was hauled to the kitchen. Also reports the Pearl, Francis reaching Virginia after eleven arduous weeks at sea. Leith notes arrivals: Charles Condie from Elphinston with tar and iron, Habel Henderson from Alloa with wine, John and Alexander Quarrier from Dunbar with wheat and bran, and Happy Janet Shirreff from Eymouth with wheat.
