Fall of Niagara and river hazards described in 1759 chronicle
The Edinburgh Chronicle recounts dangers of the Niagara River fall with swans ducks and other waterfowl drawn to the cataract and perishing. It narrates a 21 year old incident of two Six Nations Indians stranded on an island above the fall who build a bark ladder and survive aided by forts and poles used to reach the island and rescue others.
