Escape of French officers from parole in Yorkshire
Letters from Newcastle report French officers on parole in Yorkshire escaped. One was found aboard a Dutch ship at Shields hidden among lumber and faggots but identified and sent to Newgate. The companion reportedly fled in a Dutch vessel before the tide.
