A fragmented Passage recounts a guilty killer who kills a rival on the scaffold then schemes revenge against city governors. He digs earth by a wall for years to sneak a secret tunnel, enabling a French army to infiltrate the city and slaughter Saracens as guards open gates for the besieging force.
The London dispatches describe Austrian prisoners among Prussian forces. Courts in Vienna and Saxony claim they were captured aiding Prussia and seek exchange or assignment to their regiments. Reports mention harsh winter, experiments on artificial cold, and various distant notices from Petersborg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Hamburg through late January and February 1757.
