Wingham pioneer W Elze dies at 34 on Cedar Party Road
Obituary notes the death of W Elze a Manning district pioneer at his Cedar Party road residence in Wingham on Tuesday morning June 16 aged about 34. Son of Arthur and the late wife, he lived in Maitland Tinonee and Wingham, served as first town clerk of Wingham, taught at Blackmans Point Kimbriki and Nabla, and was a long time agent for United Insurance on the Manning river. He left Dungog for town work and storekeeping with James Magennis. He had four brothers in the Hise family, including George Arthur, W Hi Hise, and Arthur Edward Else.
