At the Maitland Pastures Protection Board monthly meeting secretary N D Bruce reported 1645/2/ in rates received since the last meeting, bringing yearly total to £799 10s 9d. Rates are overdue and some stock owners have not submitted returns. prosecution may follow after further inquiries by the secretary.
My Moe inspector, a LAS Liurae, reported that good rain had fallen at the end of May and, if followed up, the season would be good. The water supply was sufficient and condition of stock good to fat. The position regarding ergot trouble was greatly improved, very few cattle now being affected.
Rabbit inspector Mr T Dixas reports overall rabbit numbers are down as trapping and eradication rise. Prices for a king are extremely high while many cottagers destroy breeding sites. Some areas show progress with fewer burrows, though pockets remain active under strict control.

At the meeting on Monday Mr GK Walter reported on the annual inference of stick toward, a claim of a uniform bonus for dingo petruition. A minimum bonus of 10 shillings across 16 boards was proposed, Gloucester board had paid six pounds in bonus, some directors balked at higher costs, and the matter was deferred. The chairman congratulated Mr Waller on election to the council of navies.
About 900 fat cattle forward across all classes, with a large share of inferior quality cows. Values were firm. Roughly 1900 sheep penned, mostly steady with useful quality descriptions. prime sheep were scarce. The usual buyers operated with active competition and generally higher activity.
