Illu minations and pageantry as Turin welcomes royals
From Turin on April 28 the Queen and King set out from La Venerie at seven in the evening. Bonfires lit the Po bank and royal districts while 150 cannon salutes announced their arrival. The procession included 200 merchants, coaches, guards, and thousands of illuminated windows across Duke of Savoy’s Palace. Foreign ministers and nobility greeted them at the Royal Palace before entertainment displays and continued celebrations for four days.
