Trade and Levant Company Papers Read in Parliament
The House of Commons considered the Turkey Company Charter and related Levant trade papers. It read memorials dated 1739 and compiled accounts on wool exports to Turkey, raw silk imports, annual ambassadorial costs, and by laws for merchants, before ordering leave to enlarge and regulate Levant trade.
