The Treasury directs the Dublin Chamber of Commerce to inform the public about import rules for foreign butter. Officers must inspect all packages to ensure quality, and if butter is damaged or inferior the import should be held as grease until mixed with other substances at the importer’s expense. Fire destroys hay stacks at Castle Bagot domesne

Reports from Natheon describe a large fire at Castle Bagot's premises in Kinoake county. A police party, led by Francis Hamilton, found two sizable haystacks ablaze and, despite efforts, could not save the yard or outbuildings. The hay valued near SUH. Weathered stacks and no evidence of arson led to suspicion of hay heating as the cause.
