The Dublin Journal notes Anglophone and Portuguese tensions at Oporto port, Buonaparte’s moves and Era years, and British naval dispositions in the Tagus. It also reports Drogheda fair markets with cattle and sheep prices, a Drogheda market incident, ship movements, missing person in Dublin, and a London elopement tale with a fortune tellers’ prophecy.
An officer’s letter from Bilboa dated October 18 describes General Blake’s recon party at Galdecano. It notes 800 Salamanca students from the colleges of Lugo and St Jago fighting bravely, repelling attackers and pursuing them, with high praise from Generals Blake and Mandizabal for their marksmanship and conduct.
The Right Hon. the Lord Chancellor arrived at his house in Ely Place on Tuesday. John Foster arrived from Callon at Moran's Hotel.
