Injunction Granted in Queen v Liverpool and Memiler

In London May 18, the Court of Chancery granted an injunction against Coutts and Co to prevent delivery of documents to subjects of her Majesty. The case involves the Duke of Brunswick instrument and a supposed 160000 loan. Lords and counsel argued over authority and ownership of the instruments. The motion was granted with the court ordering enforcement of the injunction.

Army and Navy Estimates for the Current Year

The House of Commons printed the army and navy service estimates. Army total 113,488 including officers. 19,899 in the British expedition to India. Home establishment total 93,262. Military service expense 6,807,466 61. 6i with volunteer corps at 169,500. Regiments ordered home for disbandment include 21st and 22nd light dragoons and six Royal African Corps companies. Navy and victualling estimates total 2,216,796 3x. Ltd for salaries, hull pay, pensions 1,150,9708. 6s. Od. plus other charges.

General Devereux Sues for Commission in Venezuelan Expedition

In London, Mr Thompson sues General Devereux for commission and brokerage in hiring a ship to transport troops to aid Bolivar in South America. The court ruled the action illegal under 9 Geo III and 29 Geo II laws, directing a nonsuit for the plaintiff.
