Naples and Neapolitan politics in British debate
In a long parliamentary exchange, Lords Castlereagh and others discuss Neapolitan affairs, Austrian influence, and Captain Romeo. Motions seek documents on Sir W A Court's conduct, while ministers defend neutrality and urge peace, noting respect for Sicilian privileges and the risk of war. The debate touches the Vienna congress, Carbonari activity, and Naples' constitution amid Italian unrest.
