The Dublin Journal reports a tense London political scene with Lord Thurlow and Lord North resignations, preparations for a new ministry, and anxieties over War and Peace. Dispatches from Paris and Madrid discuss naval strength, Caribbean campaigns, trade, and potential American independence impacts.
A crowded Dublin style report details prices, duties, and provisions, with notes on Irish state tickets, meat and bread allocations to almshouses, and charity schools. It records ship arrivals and entries at the custom house for Philadelphia and New York, local trade, taxes, price movements, and a fatal execution delay with reflections on virtue and public sentiment. It also mentions marriages and obituaries in a dense city ledger, with shipwreck and gauges of commerce amid a broader crisis in industry and prices.
