Mourning Orders Issued By Court For Portugal Death

From the London Gazette the Court directs mourning on Thursday next the 5th instant for the late Bren ot Portugal. Ladies to wear black accessories including white cloves and necklaces. Gentlemen to wear full mourning with black gowns and sword buckles. Mourning to continue until August 1st.

Royal appointments in Scotland by the Prince Regent

The Prince Regent nominates David Douglas Hag to the Lords of Justiciary in Scotland and fills multiple high offices including Lord of Session James Wolf Murray and Judge of the Court of Admiralty John Connall. Alexander Madonochie becomes Keeper of the Advocate for Scotland. James Wedderburn appointed Solicitor General. Remaining appointments include Sheriff-Depute roles and reassignments.

War Office approves 82d Prince of Wales Volunteers badges

The War Office announces on July 8 that his Majesty approves the 82d of Prince of Wales's Volunteers may wear on uniforme the word Niagara in caps and other formerly granted devices in recognition of distinguished services during the year 184.
