Bolivar's forces clash at Garnacra left bank Apurito

Dispatch dated March 28 from Angostura reports Bolivar’s forces attacking the Vanguard at Garnacra on the Apurito. 700 infantry and 200 cavalry faced strong defender resistance, high casualties on both sides, with 24 killed including officers, 39 wounded and 20 missing. The aim was encampment disruption and possible attack toward Achaguas as river conditions allow.
