Freedom of the Cooks Guild Awarded to Sir Arthur Wellesley

The Corporation of Cooks in Dublin presented the Freedom of their ancient guild in a silver box with an accompanying address to General Sir Arthur Wellesley on Christmas Quarter Day 1809. Wellesley replied from Dublin Castle expressing gratitude for the honor and praising the army's bravery in Portugal. Oaths were then administered in the usual form.
