Wreck of the Les Druk Armis and coastal looting tale
The Baltic voyage tale reports the wrecking of the Les Druk Armis near Fintshire and Ahergelly with 24 English and 42 French aboard. Only 12 Frenchmen survived. a box of diamonds and a wedge of gold were taken. English salvage efforts recovered some cargo as locals fortified against plunderers and authorities offered rewards.
