Graziers and public announce the entry of James Nally as partner with Colclough in the Ley business. They urge trust in Nally’s solvency and recommend the firm to friends and the public as they continue with renewed diligence and equal attention to employers and customers. Public notice dated Dublin January 1788.
The Barrack Office invites proposals for supplying firing and candles to barracks and garters for one year from a specified date. Sealed proposals due before February 18, include two sufficient referees. Coal delivered by measure, turf box specs given, and payment staged on security and certificate. No second proposal or privilege for cheapest bidder. Richard Thwaites, Secretary.
General Post Office Dublin reports a mail coach was attacked at about five yesterday evening at a place called Cro Martin near Ard ee. Two men opened the mail and seized port bags containing letters from Letterkenny Aughnacloy to Dublin. Information by command of the Postmaster General.
General Post-Office issues a reward for information on a 1787 Essex-gate robbery of an Express to Limerick. Three young men stopped the post-boy at nine, stealing a large Deed of nine skins of parchment and a memorial, addressed to Rev. John Seymer. Rewards total fifty pounds for capture, twenty pounds per robber, with further rewards for those aiding discovery. By order of John Lees.

An official notice from Dublin declares rewards for apprehension and conviction of those involved in tythe arson and murder on Banby lands in Cork. It names Denis Twomy, Mathew Galvin and Daniel Driscoll among implicated parties, offers fifty pounds for first three apprehensions, plus a pardon for discoverers, and commands local officials to aid in capturing the criminals by June. Also announces a separate sale notice and lease details for Finglas properties by order of the allyn.
