A formal notice invites memorials from candidates for the Mastership of the Free School at Drogheda on the Foundation of Saint Erasine’s. Applications must state qualifications and intent, to be delivered to A Cooper, Esq. at the Governors in Dublin on or before January 15.
The Office of Ordnance in Dublin announces a sealed proposal process closing after 12 o'clock on the day of bid submission for works at Duncannon Fort and related sites. Proposals must include security and be presented by authorized persons at the Royal Engineers office or Ordnance yard.
The King in Council declares the Islands of Ferve and Iceland and coastal Greenhayl settlements exempt from attack. Inhabitants may trade with London or Leith. ships of these lands face seizure but goods grown or manufactured there are protected. Also bans shipments of gunpowder and arms on foreign vessels for six months.
Carroll announces third import of Corey Seeds to Legganhall near Tel- Tewetowr PEW Orchard, with evergreens, fruit trees, and flowering shrubs for sale on advantageous terms. Public auction in Killybegs on February 7 1811 offers DRAM TIMBER and PLANE cargo from the Gallio Two KinDRAN stranded in December. Also notice offers early delivery of Hawk er papers to subscribers.
The Dublin Journal notes elegant furnished lodgings in the neighbourhood of Sackville Street. A respectable private family hosts a single gentleman or married couple without children as preferred lodgers. Principals may send letters addressed to A. DL to the Printer.
The bulletin on the king’s health remains favorable and the Prince Regent begins his government with confidence. Reports from Cadiz and Cadiz letters describe a planned grand attack against the French by Allied forces, with Massena’s forces weakened and a landing intended to spike enemy batteries. A Cortes decree calls for surrender of church plate to fund the war, while Baltic news notes Russian approval to release Teneriffe vessels for a fee.
The Prince of Wales subscribed the required oaths and declarations under the Act to administer the Royal Authority during the king's illness. Members of the Privy Council present, including Lords, Bishops, and MPs, paid homage and kissed the royal hand.
The Prince Regent takes the oath to govern during the king’s illness in a grand ceremony at Cartonellouse Court Yard and the Grand Saloon. Dignitaries, dukes, archbishops, and Privy Councillors attend, with the Crown’s full procession and formal declarations concluding near five o'clock. Public streets fill with spectators.
