A public inquest and funeral arrangements reveal a Lord Londonderry death amid parliamentary strain. A letter from Duke of Wellington to Dean Lin supports mental distress claims, with details of the wake, removal to St James's Square, and Westminster Abbey interment plans.
The Royal George with his Majesty aboard anchored at Berwick and Edinburgh as scouts and crowds gathered along the Firth of Forth. Salutes from boats greeted the royal squadron while yachts and townsfolk awaited the expected arrival and celebrations. The Knight Marischal proceeded from Holyrood to receive the Scottish Regalia, then escorted the crown sceptre and sword to Holyrood where regalia were handed to the Knight Marischal for display. The procession from the Castlehill through Princes Street and Regent Bridge featured guards, the Duke of Hamilton, and Sir Walter Scott, with cheers from onlookers. A crane collapse on Cavite Firth paraded ground injured about thirty, including several women, during the preparations.
