The Lord Mayor orders publication of legal notices regarding securities for merchants and tradesmen. Penalties apply to those failing to provide or renew securities by the specified date. The notice, dated August 8, 1785, is signed by Nicholas Pitton, Clerk.
The Lord Mayor explains his motives regarding last Monday’s aggregate meeting. He states a regiment was delivered to the Sheriffs on Saturday night, and that a meeting was agreed for Wednesday with the approving gentlemen. He notes a Sunday inquiry sought to move the date, but he declined due to inability to consult Sheriff Jenkin who was dining in the country.
The Dublin Society invites claims for a sum of five hundred pounds at an annual rate per acre for rapes or colefeeds sown on not less than five acres. If more than a thousand acres are claimed, the total sum will be divided among claimants. Notices must be sent to the Assistant Secretary by the first Thursday in November.

The session adjourns to September with debate on corporate privileges and city charter rights.

ENNIS Harter No 15 Corkhill Dublin Next Door to the Bank advertises a great variety of ladies riding hats of the finest colour and trimming, worn by fashionable ladies in London. Also mentions Laurice Deguciful malk white hare. Furnished lodging offered. July 98 1785 N B Clements, Emendpaarn, removed to the said house, where he continues business as usual.
