Proposals to Reform Ireland Distillery Bounties and Illicit Trade

In a March 4 1410 letter the Chancellor outlines plans to end large distillery bounties and promote small licensed stills across Ireland. He argues the 1808 1809 prohibition spurred illicit distillation and urges a three year licensing term, charges adjusted by capacity, and a reduced grain spirits duty to 2s 6d per gallon to curb illegal trade.

Debates on Expedition End with Varied Ministerial Divisions

Dublin reports the final debate on the Walcheren Expedition with four divisions. Ministers vote majorities of 48, 40, and 25 on successive divisions approving or censuring policy.
