The text outlines a farming method where drills are ploughed deep, then harrowed after a few days for landing. Planting potatoes later, with weed potatoes near the surface, benefits from sun and rapid vegetation. Decomposition of dung is aided, weeds are killed early, and a fertilizer base is built for root growth.
Walter Coppinger and his son Robert with Jeremial Gullivan faced a murder charge over Major Collis’s 22 November raid at Kane Lodge. Witness Mrs Collis described the break in, robbery of silver and notes, and the assault on Major Collis as the men attempted to force money.
