News from Toulon to Tournay and Siege Prospects
Rumors from the London Gazette and Barcelona report British and Dutch ships near Toulon and a fleet marching toward Toulon and Lerida. Algerine peace talks fail as the Dey demands gifts, while French coast alarms rise with Savoyard plots and coastal seizures. The Siege of Tournai looms with capitulations and reinforcements, and Marlborough’s forces tighten around the Citadel as Villars shifts toward La Bassée.
