Politically Complex 18th Century Maritime News Note
An 18th century gazette item reports on European powers rejecting peace overtures, naval movements of Admiral Hofier and Norris, captures of ships near Sweden and Jamaica, and a host of domestic incidents including a court appointment and various wrecks and floods. It notes a Downes Dragoon encounter, a Stockholm mission, a Gibraltar dispatch about the Moroccan emperor, and local Dublin and Carlow notices with legal and property details.
