Proclaimed Irish News Bits From Cork to Dublin 1742

A fragmentary 1742 Dublin-Castle report notes a Cork murder during a breakfast raid, prices for bear barley oats and wheat, and local elections at Drogheda and Ardee. Also referenced are marriages, a Belfast ceremony gone wrong, and storms and deaths. Lord Justice promotions and a deer shot in Phoenix Park trigger a five pound reward for information.

Reward Offered for Buck Killing in Dublin Park

Dublin July 8 1441 His Excellencies the Lords Justices announce a twenty pounds reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons who shot a buck in the King's Park the Phoenix near Dublin between 1 and 2 in the morning of Sunday July the fifth. A separate note mentions five pounds for apprehending William Mallow or bailiff Jo rossthwait for taking a fawn from the park. William Mellows, about five feet nine inches tall at age three, described as fair complexioned, wearing brown cloth and brown bob wig, is named in the pursuit.
