Barcelona Surrender After Barrier Assault and Berwick's Clemency
The Barcelona assault ended with a negotiated surrender after heavy losses on both sides. Berwick suspended arms, ensured safe lives, and ordered disarmament and dispersal of nonregular troops. The capitulation included surrender of Montjuïc, disarmament of miquelets, and post siege orders while praising King Charles’s clemency and promising reforms to infantry regiments.
