British Dispatches Report War Council and Grim Prospects
From Petersburgh the 18th part a courier arrived two days before from Count Munich with dispatches. A war council followed and sent him back next day. He brings word of the Grand Vizir amassing near Octakon to seize the place, portending a possible slaughter. From Dresden a dispute between Baron de Keyzerling and the Pope’s Nuncio over precedence, with Keyzerling vowing to leave if not preferred. An order bans arms on coaches for six months ending May 1st. Reports detail naval and military appointments, a stabbing at Temple Bar, coin recovered in pewter, and various court notices including appointments and envoys.
