Peace terms promised as ministers push new war plans
The speech and debates note Her Majesty’s envoys have arrived at Utrecht to craft a just peace with Spain and the West Indies. Parliament will be told the peace terms before they end. Ministers seek supplies and speed in an early campaign while a zealous Commons pledges prompt fiscal action. The address condemns false reports of a separate peace and urges remedies for libel and press abuse. London January 1711.
