Proclamation on Suppression of Tories and Robbers in Galway area
The Duke of Ormonde on behalf of the Lords Justices issues a proclamation coercing officers to enforce Acts against Tories robbers and raparees. It offers ten pounds for discoveries and twenty pounds for the first discoverer of major offences including maiming cattle and robberies. It orders sheriffs magistrates and constables to pursue offenders and to extend vigilance across Eyre Connaight Galway Mayo and other counties.
