Proclamation on Offices and Succession in Britain 1714
The King issues a proclamation from January 15 1714 confirming that all civil and military offices shall remain in place for six months after the monarch’s death or demise. It directs officials to continue service unless removed by the successor, to prevent vacancies during the transition and preserve state order across Great Britain Ireland and related dominions. It also covers provisions for military arrangements and allegiance to the Crown amidst ongoing European affairs and regimental supports.
