Letters for Rome and papal nominations amid 18th century intrigue
An old newspaper snippet reports on Pontifical decisions affecting Rome and Toledo, noting the Duke de St Aizanans path to cardinalship and the Pope passing over Infante Don Luis for Toledo. It mentions a Hanover express about the king’s departure to Britain on October 23, and local Irish notices including MP William Splege’s death and charity efforts by Cornelius Delany.
