News from Vienna to Dresden and Hungary War Plans

From Dublin to Bristol in April 1737 reports Emperor’s plan to strike Turks in two places. Baron de Reyterling sails to Dresden with proposals. Forces numbered seventy thousand. eighty artillery pieces and sixty mortars planned. Lorrain to command in Hungary with Charles II. Army mobilization in May. Court grants loans to Emperor. many nobles volunteer for campaign.

Lottery and bridge planned in Westminster area this spring

London reports a lottery ticket scheme with blanks valued at 7 shillings 10 pence each and an alley restriction on housing, plus a Westminster bridge project. Last Friday night in Great James Street Brooke Bridges died. he was a 20 year servant to the Export Customs and esteemed. A Portuguese brass ordnance project with 12 pieces is noted, and the Earl of Darnley becomes Grand Master of the Freemasons for the coming year.
