Sheriff Braden and Patrolman Grin-I .stead answered a call about 4 miles north of here yesterday evening and brought Robert Kemp, colored, to jail here. •'Kemp, it appears, was doing no harm, but was arousing suspicion, so ; the neighbors called the sheriff. Hene^yilie1Bart McLaughlin farm yesterdaymorning and when anyone woud approach he would jump the fence and run across the field. These actions , led the neighbors to believe that hewas keeping out of the wav because Iof some act that he had committed.!When the sheriff and officer arriven |a hunt was staged in which all thefarmers in the neighborhood participated. ,i: “ f ; jThe fields around the vicinity were scoured and finally the negro was caught and brought to jail.No charge has been made against j him as vet but he is being held on'general principles.
