John Robert Scherle sustains a broken leg after a Hart Parr tractor wheel catches his heel while clearing hay on Paulson and Winkler farm east of Davidson, two miles south of Norman Sampson’s farm. He is taken to the home of Norman Lampjeon and then to the nearby hospital. Scherle, a longtime resident north of town, is related to Ed and Bernard Scherl, who own local land holdings.
David son area obituary for Mr Rutherford aged thirty four years, who died after an appendectomy at the joint municipal hospital in July. Born in Hawkesbury Ontario, he homesteaded southeast of Davidson Maple Valley district and worked in larding. Survived by Wm Rutherford and aunt in Hawkesbury with several cousins. Funeral services held at the Methodist church with Orange Lodge participation and pallbearers from Stardale and nearby communities.
Members of the Oddfellows and Masons from Davidseom joined for a combined outing at Imperial Reach near Lome Lake. The beach owner set up tables and supplied breakfast items as about 176 of 390 attendees enjoyed the day with refreshments, coffee, and friendly storytelling amid a pleasant scene.
