Arnold's jewelry store held its annual Christmas guessing contest counting wheat grains per pint. The correct total was 14 063 with W. E. Thompson winning a Columbia Grafonola and records. several others won prizes by close guesses.
At a recent meeting the Davidson Red Cross organized its executive and other committees completing the local branch. Officials named include President J. D. Brace, Vice President A B McGregor, Treasurer J H Hunter, Secretary W F Cameron, and members Pember, Cancey, Curtis, Garrett, Stweck, Archibald, plus officers and members in Membership and Finance groups.

Last night the curling season began with a short draw after a club meeting in the rink rooms. A schedule for Friday and Saturday games was drafted. The annual Scott Cup knock out event opens New Year Eve with draws continuing New Year Day and a silver cup donated by Geo A Scott MLA to the winner. The club named new officers and set the bonspiel date for Feb 12 with a dedicated committee.
The funeral of Violet Carlson was held with a family service at Mre E G Paulson home and a 2 o clock public service at the Methodist Church led by Rev A J Henderson. Numerous floral tributes from local families and organizations were sent including sprays from the Weedman and Paulson households and the Methodist Ladies Aid. Eight young car bearers from the district and pallbearers Fred Buerkly Ed Bishop Norman Anderson Herb Tipper Jas Wismer Rae Eddie attended. Interment followed at Davidson cemetery.
Arrangements underway for Rex Theatre to reopen with electric lights and new projection equipment. Bernard announces refit after teasing from W C Barri and the community will enjoy film service locally. Opening date forthcoming as work continues.
A pretty wedding was solemnized December 26 at the home of the Misses Scott Windsor. Bessie Wickware of Birth Man married John G. Young of Kinietino Sask with ceremony by Pre Pavey under an arch of green. The bride wore cream crepe de chine with beaded trim and entered to Wagner Lobengrin. Immediate family attended and a luncheon followed as rooms were decorated with evergreens and carnations. The toast to the couple was by Capt Wickware CAMC. They plan a short visit in Ergina then head to the coast for winter.
The Trenton schoolhouse hosted a Christmas concert with pupils and staff presenting choruses, recitations, songs, and a shadow play. Mrs Stephenson and Leni Kirkwood led performances. a Red Cross collection of 26 dollars was raised for the Davidson branch.
The Grain Growers granted appeal court representation for farmers at Last Mountain Constituency with appointments including Hott Mollard Fairy Hit Victor Hood Kelliher Stanley Stewart Girvin and H Blackmore Davidson Brook Catton Hanley Aecting.
