Electing Candidate Late in January in Cratk Ride

Prominent conservatives from Arm River meet in the council chamber on Monday afternoon to organize the campaign for a federal elective contest. Delegates from Cratk and surrounding towns, including Liberty Hoeldfast Stalwart and Defrance, set the date for the conversion of a candidate to contest the riding for the last Wednesday in January at Cratk three o'clock in the afternoon.

Power Plant Fuel Use Sparks Town Council Meeting

At the regular council meeting on Monday night Major Wilken and councillors Hemrr Raster and Donald were present. The board discussed a Dec 11 resignation from F C Whitelock and a $94.90 claim by Lloyd & Co. for prior work, with a motion to table the letter and pursue tax distraint where needed. A street light request for the hospital gate entrance was granted and rink admission prices set for different age groups. A report from Supt. Todd on the power plant’s operation noted satisfactory performance since July 26 and pending warranty follow ups.

Arm River Council Holds Regular Meeting Minutes

Arm River RM held a regular meeting with Reeve FB Hf Bleckmore and Councillors Semp son eaves Thompson Scharf and Bott present. Clerk noted references to F. 36-37-28 and solicitor Howtiedge, who advised on tax refunds for the owner who received statement notices. Mr McPhee reported discovering graded reed on his land W 36-2WS.

German Ships Bombard English Coast Towns

London reports a German squadron attacked the eastern coast last night striking Hartlepool Whitby and Scarborough. The bombardment marks the first foreign attack on England in centuries as German cruisers moved through fog to the Tees estuary and beyond.

Davidsee elects HutcHeon mayor amid wartime turmoil

Gun accident sends two to hospital in Montem

A gun accident aboard a sleigh near Devitese resulted in injuries to two youths and a man. The elder man and a boy received wounds as the barrel discharged, sending a charge into a hip and foot while horses bolted. Dr Craig at the General Hospital treated the victims and photographs of the wounds were taken for records.

Davidson Public School Concert Review

Davidson Public School presented a concert with a packed hall and attentive audience. The program included songs Home and Country and The Little Kentucky Meuse, with Japanese and Indian attire performances, recitations, a Cricket on the Hearth scene, and a notable drill by 12 pupils.
