Ladies prize in hole in two contest at Country Club
Mrs. C. W. McLachlin qualified for the prize in the hole in two contest for ladies run by Mercury Hosiery Mills Ltd. The event took place on No. 2 at the Country Club. Geo. S. Curtis of Toronto and J. L. Bowman played the course over a weekend, scoring 80 and 85 respectively. Curtis praised the Country Club as one of the west’s prettiest courses despite unfamiliar sand greens.

Court convicts mother in school disruption case at Ste. Rose
Mary Nedellec was convicted for interrupting 4 in session at Toutes Aides School and ordered to pay 43.50 in costs and post a 200 bond for good behavior. assault charge dropped. Two young men were jailed for 36 days with restitution and costs for stolen goods. Juvenile cases involve post office theft and store burglary at Fork River. Crown Prosecutor C S A Rogers led the proceedings.

The couple settled in Dauphin where Mr Smith ran a harness business. Ottawa September 26 Colonel J G Rattray of Winnipeg ex service man and former Manitoba provincial police commissioner is appointed chairman of the Soldiers' Settlement board. He succeeds Major John Barnett who resigned after taking a post with a Toronto firm. The board works with the land settlement branch of the immigration department and handles the soldiers land system and immigrant locations under the Empire settlement plan.
