Town and Country YMC A announces a public meeting Monday evening September 29 at seven o'clock in the collegiate to present a coordinated scheme for centralizing work among boys and young men across the Dauphin district. Mayor J L Bowman will chair and all citizens are invited.
The Ladies Auxiliary hosts a Town Hall dance on Friday night September 26 with the McMaypray Orchestra. Donations from Mrs Howarth and Mr Jones are acknowledged. An auxiliary meeting is set for Tuesday September 30 at 8 o clock. R R Pattinson arrives for Victory Loan HQ and a general committee forms. Sam Katz offers his Wallace block store front as headquarters. A quartet of duck hunters returns from Snake Island Lake Winnipegosis with good bags and distribute birds to friends.

Frick brothers from Illinois purchased the Hambleton and Puchalski farms this week. Each sale covers half sections near town. The Hambleton farm sold for 30500 dollars and the Puchalski farm sold for 5000 dollars.
Over 75 boys and friends met Tuesday evening in St Pauls church for an address by D R Poole secretary of the Provincial Advisory Committee on co operation in boys work. He urged education for good citizenship covering books hobbies home reading sex education and physical health.
Elizabeth Isabella Wilson wed William Edward McTaggart at a sep 24 home ceremony officiated by Rev J A Cormie. Attendants included Miss Bernice Walker and Mr George F King. Guests from Winnipeg Neepawa and Gilbert Plains joined, with a wedding luncheon and departure on the midnight coastbound train.
Mr W. KR Shelp of Benito Manitoba and Miss Mary Batty of Dauphin were wed in Winnipeg last week. After a short honeymoon they will visit Dauphin before returning north to Benito to take up their residence.
Mrs H E Swartwood announces the engagement of their daughter to Mr James Andrew Argue. The marriage will be at the family residence on Tuesday October 14. Mr and Mrs Joseph Clarke hosted a stag dinner for their son Allan on his 22nd birthday with twelve guests, all returned soldiers. About fifty friends of Mr Percy Lowes and his bride, recently arrived from England, gave a miscellaneous shower at the Lowes home with gifts in a decorated basket carried by Helen Snyder and Florence Lowes. The evening featured cards dancing and a dainty lunch.
A silver tea in aid of the W.A. of St. Pauls church will be held at Mrs. Wedgery’s home 112 6th Ave S.W. Friday Sept 26 from 3 to 6. The event is hosted by Mayo Electric Shop and Steels. Mary Pickford in Daddy Long Legs screens at Big 7 reel drama with 25c and 10c prices.
