Man Charged in Murder of Pine River Father-in-Law
Mike Yatkowski, 25, was arrested near Pine River, charged with the July murder of his father-in-law Peter Senyk, 49. Senyk’s body was found in a shallow grave near his farm, with the inquest likely to begin soon and a preliminary hearing planned after September 27.

Alfred Scarff Dies After Short Illness in Dauphin
Alfred Edmund Scarff, employee of the town of Dauphin, died at Dauphin General Hospital on Thursday morning Sept 16 after a brief illness. He was in his 60th year, born in Woodstock Ontario, and moved to Dauphin district in 1896. He married Caroline Shaw on Feb 5 1917. survived by wife and five children, with four brothers and one sister. Active Salvation Army member, funeral held Sept 19 at the SA barracks, Riverside Cemetery burial with pallbearers listed.
