Dauphin council submitted a Manitoba Centennial application for Vermillion Park development with a total cost of 40000. Centennial Reserve Fund Plan By-Law Approved
Town council approved a by law to levy funds for commemorating Canada’s 1967 centennial and Manitoba’s 1976 celebration. A penal reserve will hold 18 814.37 dollars from 1964 65 levies plus a one mill annual levy 1966 70. With real property assessment of 10 418 460 this year the 1965 one mill levy equals 10 418 46 dollars. The five year one mill levy is expected to raise 50 000 55 000 dollars for the Centennial reserve fund.

Two Weeks Of Sun Needed For Harvest
Dave Hill of the agricultural office says two full weeks of sun and warm drying winds are needed to restart harvests. The crop remains mostly unharvested with 75 percent in rain saturated fields and only about 10 percent collected. Grain tested in elevators shows grades slipping from No 3 to No 4 or 5 as frost and wet soils hinder dry-down.
