Victor Dawson 21 Injured In Highway Motorcycle Mishap
Victor Dawson aged 21 of Lauphin sustained multiple fractures to his right leg when his motorcycle struck the left rear wheel of a southbound tractor on No 5 highway about 15 miles southeast of town. Vern Anger narrowly avoided the tractor and Dawson was taken to Ste Rose hospital for treatment.

Governor Stiening Visits Dauphin Lions Club
The district governor of Lions Henry Stiening from Moorhead Minnesota made his first official visit to the Manitoba clubs at Dauphin on Sept 14 addressing a special meeting. Lyle Cameron of Winnipeg Lions introduced him. Stiening is a prosecuting attorney for Minnesota and served 12 years in the U S Senate from 1935 to 1947.

Canadian Steamship Lines Agent among Noronic victims
Mrs. William Hilton of Dauphin reports her brother David Keddy of Detroit died in the Noronic fire in Toronto harbor. Keddy had served 43 years with Canadian Steamship Lines and was passenger agent in Detroit for 12 years. His wife, also aboard, survived with burns.

Rotary Governor Visits Dauphin Club on Tour

Hall Door Widened for Dauphin Fire Truck
The town widened the fire hall door to 7 feet 8 inches to fit the new Dauphin fire truck. The door frame was removed and doors relocated to the outside, giving a six inch clearance as the 24 foot 6 inch truck passed into the hall.

Cool weather persisted in Dauphin with a high of 63.4 degrees last Thursday and a low of 31 degrees on Wednesday. Weekly precipitation totaled 0.15 inches with a trace of rain, and specific daily rain readings occurred from Sept. 14 to Sept. 19.
