Groff overwhelms challenger Cattle in the second round at The Sporting Arena after a delayed main event. A kidney blow and a jaw shot end the contest early as Groff dominates body work.
The Columbia Concert Co opened the social season with a Town Hall dance on Tuesday evening September 2. A large attendance enjoyed a delightful program of music performed by Mrs R Hamilton Mrs Grobb Mr R Hamilton Mr Gemmell and Mr Hancock.
Notice states that A Terin will not be responsible for any debts his wife may contract after September 20th and asks the public to note the separation. The ad seeks a capable general servant for Mrs Zworon at Vermillion Park.

The United Parme of Manitoba will hold a convention in Lauphin on Tuesday October 1 to nominate a candidate for the county in the forthcoming election. The gathering is expected to be one of the largest ever held in Lauphin.
W. B. Best acting president of the Canadian Association of Railway women will visit Dauphin on September 25 to organize a new lodge. The association recently broke away from the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers based in Cleveland, US.
Prof M C Herner of Manitoba Agricultural College will visit Dauphins on September 29 and 30 for free flock culling with Dave Murray. The goal is to remove drones and leave productive layers, boosting profits. owners are urged to join the Dauphin Poultry Association for a $1 fee. Last year 112 birds were culled with 59 drones identified.
In Ramsay Wright Ltd Store a pumpkin guessing contest drew 68 attempts from 56 to 1989 pounds. The correct weight was 123 pounds 9 ounces. Ruby Wark won for guessing 123 pounds 4 ounces or within one ounce of the real weight.
On Friday evening September 23 members of Alexandra Lodge No 1 will host Oddfellows and ladies for an At Home. A musical program will be performed and Brother Neville PGM PRG will deliver a brief address.
Henry Forsberg and Sons of Meton report their Rosen rye ad in the Herald has generated orders from the U.S. and Fort William. The ad led to a complete sell out with more orders on hand they cannot fill and they request immediate discontinuation.
Despite threatening weather the Presbyterian Ladies' Aid annual bazaar drew eager buyers before opening. Booths offered attractive plain and fancy sewing, candy, home cooking, produce, and an autumn stage tea. The event raised $425 and convenors thanked all who contributed.
No deliveries this week as over 100,000 bushels of wheat have been shipped from Dauphin to date. Prices slipped during the week with No 1 Northern and other grades noted in the track prices, reflecting a downward trend in local grain markets.
Mrs. W. H. Wright and family express deep appreciation for floral tributes and for the great kindness and sympathy shown during their recent bereavement.
Preparations for the formal opening of the GW V A bulldog hall on the evening of the 27th inst. attract local officials and the public. Hon C D McPherson will attend as minister and ex-soldier, with an eight o’clock program and free refreshments. The hall will host social functions in coming winter and is open to all. A later note thanks Mr W Baylis for aiding a derailed track incident, earning a passenger pass as a gesture of appreciation.
Mi iodsii church welcomed Rev T Neville and his family with a Monday evening program chaired by Dr Bewell. Miss Miller and Mrs Hawkins contributed musical items while the congregation pledged support for the new pastor and his work. A social with refreshments followed and the gathering closed with God Save the King.
A silver tea at Mrs Robt Hawkins Vermillion Park funds the Methodist Church bazaar. The event runs Friday September 30 from 3 30 to 6 00 with proceeds aiding the church project.
