Man Dies In Fire At Camperville Store
George Klyne 42 of Camperville died in a fire that destroyed the Albert Urbano vitch general store early Saturday. No inquest will be held. Loss estimated at 40 000 to 50 000 with insurance on building and stock. Firefighters lacked equipment but saved nearby buildings. Klyne served in WWII with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and is survived by his wife and his father Jules Klyne.

Reduced Gas Prices Seen In Western Canada
Imperial Oil executive vice president John R. White told the Winnipeg Rotary Club that gas prices in Manitoba Saskatchewan and across the prairies will fall this fall due to the Interprovincial Pipeline cutting crude transport costs. He projected further reductions with Great Lakes navigation opening next spring and cautioned forecasts depend on world oil prices. Winnipeg prices next year may be four to five cents per gallon lower than if crude moved east had not occurred. He also anticipated Regina prices dropping by about the same by next summer.
