Nursing graduates hear address at Dauphin Town Hall
Five nurses from the Dauphin General Hospital and Training School received diplomas at a town hall ceremony in Dauphin on Tuesday evening. Dr. Ellen Douglas of Winnipeg challenged the grads to serve with self discipline and community value as hospital leaders noted by local officials, the Manitoba Hospital Association, and MLA Robert Hawkins. The event also announced the Dauphin Scholarship Fund regulations and appeal to support deserving students with scholarships up to 100 dollars.

At a Monday meeting Dauphin council passed by laws authorizing the issue of 7500 and 38500 debentures for direct relief and for the construction of a waterworks dam and filtration plant in the Riding Mountains. The session covered dam reconstruction gravel contracts and paving for the reservoir project.

Treasurer briefed on operations from the year including fed calf fair and seed grain fair with a deficit but aided by a grant from Hon J L Bowman.
