Enrollment across Dauphin's three elementary schools and the junior college reached an all time high as classes began. Total elementary enrollment stood at 792 with junior high at 194 and collegiate at 296. District officials note continued gains, with projected increases before Christmas and a higher September total than last year. Henderson and Whitmore elementary schools report fewer new entrants this year.

Rotary Club Carnival Set for Three Days at DMCC Hall
The Dauphin Rotary Club hosts its annual three day carnival starting next week at the DMCC industrial hall. The event runs Thursday Friday and Saturday evenings with a matinee Saturday afternoon for children. A Ferris wheel outside and games inside promise entertainment for all ages.

Dauphin baseball ends season with one final home game against Brandon Greys. Total attendance reached about 17 000 with an average paid attendance around 450 per game. William S Marsh 68 longtime publisher of the Dauphin Herald and Press died suddenly Monday morning at his home in Dauphin after 44 years residence. He led the paper since 1925 as editor and 1931 as publisher. Survived by widow Edythe and two children, services Thursday at 2:30 from Bullmore’s funeral chapel.

Tourist Camp Revenue and Expenditure Rise in Dauphin
