Sums collected for the Children’s Aid Society drive reached 545.68 with J. W. Skinner and G. H. Palmer contributing 25.05 each. Other amounts remain to be reported as the appeal continues. The town also held a 1925 sale of lands in arrears for rates with most improved properties selling to purchasers.
The Inter School League under Elks auspices grows in interest and rivalry among Collegiate Normal and public schools. The following standings reflect the teams and points in the season, highlighting fierce competition and student participation.
The Mackenzie School hosted the second session of the School of Scientific Temperance for young workers. R F Hamilton of the Collegiate Staff lectured on Alcohol and its effect on muscular acts. Miss M Keith read a modernized tale about bad habits, and Rev F C Middleton closed with an address on Alcohol and Character.
Grace Church choir members presented F W Woodward a brass jardiniere Sunday evening after five years of faithful service in Dauphin. Rev Fred C Middleton spoke for the choir as the gift was accepted with thanks.
The Normal Literary society met on Friday with O Canada sung to start. Members gave stump speeches and readings by Miss Bessie Madill Miss Ruby McRorie and Miss Irene Lusk. The football team tied Grade X 4 4 after a snowy field. The Anglican Church Girls Branch hosted an evening program with Color Contest won by Miss Florianne Sicotte and a pleasant lunch.
Farewell meetings were held Sunday in the Salvation Army Bar racks to mark Captain and Mrs Fugelsang departing for a new appointment in Winnipeg. Monday's Young People's harvest festival was the final gathering to bid them farewell with songs and recitations. Capt Fugelsang accompanied himself on the banjo during selections.
Under the Poultry Division Dominion Live Stock Branch a demonstration on killing plucking and trussing poultry will be held in the Massey Harris building Dauphin at 2 pm on Monday Nov th. Attendees should bring a bird to learn hands on killing and dressing aimed at improving dressed poultry for top prices. The government supervised event is free and open to all families and poultry producers.
Inspector Cunningham of the Provincial Police and his party returned from a trip near Winnipegosis. They battled ice for four and a half hours with a steel steamer driven by two steam engines, finally making port by strenuous effort.
Manitoba post offices adopt a simplified five rate structure Tuesday morning. Parcels up to eight ounces cost at most one cent per ounce. Within 20 miles shipping one to three pounds is 10 cents, four to six pounds 15 cents, with each extra three pounds adding five cents. Similar pricing applies beyond 20 miles and to Yukon and all Canadian provinces.

Roderick Morrison 8, long known as a horse and cattle dealer across western Canada, died after a motor accident in Winnipeg. He was crossing Maryland and Broadway when struck by a Northern 641 truck. he died at Misericordia Hospital. He had lived in Dauphin and later Humboldt Kerrobert and other towns, with a son Alan in Yellow Pine and daughter Mrs A Downie noted. Mrs Morrison traveled to Winnipeg after hearing the news.
