Northern District Teachers' Convention at Dauphin

The Tenth Annual Teachers Convention brought together inspectors Fallis Herriott Belton Stevenson and Walkers divisions in Dauphin for a two day meeting. The event discussed history geography spelling and examination roles with sessions in elementary and secondary groups and a public reception with music and speeches. Officers for the next year were named headlined by President R M Stevenson.

Referendum Meeting in Town Hall Urges Prohibition Vote

A well attended town hall meeting Tuesday evening backed the referendum on Manitoba liquor import prohibition for Monday the 25th inst. Speaker Dr. W L Armstrong and Rev. Gil bert Agar urged strict liquor laws, citing past provincial wins and predicting temperance progress within fifty years. R C Smith appealed for funds to cover district assessment costs, and the response was generous.
