Fire damages Princess Confectionery kitchen
A noon Wednesday fire damaged the kitchen of the Princess Confectionery. Dauphin fire brigade responded quickly and extinguished the blaze in about fifteen minutes. The interior suffered heavy smoke and water damage but the upper story was spared. Renovations start immediately and the shop may reopen before week’s end.

Air Cadet Instructors Fly In Four Cessna Cranes
Saturday morning air cadet instructors enjoyed 20 minute to over one hour flights in four Cessna Cranes with Group Captain A. H. Wilson approving. Squadron Leader G. Sellers organized the event with teachers including A E. Reid J A. Wicklund L S. Smith and others. RCAF Recruiting Unit To Visit Dauphin Next Week
A mobile RCAF recruiting officer and a medical officer from Winnipeg will be in Dauphin on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 25 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will interview prospective applicants for enlistment in trades such as stationary engineers, firemen with automatic stoker experience, standard tradesmen with at least one year of high school, and clerk stenographers. They will also medically examine applicants qualified for aircrew training as pilots, observers, wireless operators, and air gunners.

Agricultural Society Breaks Even on Year's Operations
The Dauphin Agricultural Society reports a small year end surplus of 5.59 with W. D. Strang presiding at the November 12 meeting in the G W V A hall. The July fair yielded 545.93 surplus. gate receipts 3557.85 versus 3867.64 in 1940. Manitoba agriculture grant 412.50. Expenditures included 2000 to Barnes and Carruthers attractions 125 Willis Bros trick horse acts 400 horse race prizes and 136.80 Gilbert Plains band and meals. The boys and girls short course showed a 59.86 year surplus.
